in Sanskrit it means "garland". We make these sacred instruments with 108 spheres of natural semiprecious stones, strung and knotted one by one. The spheres represent the union and connection that exists at the basis of all living beings. In each Mala there is a larger grain, called Guru, combined with a cotton tassel representing the thousand-petalled lotus.
