Tibetan Mala

In Sanskrit, it means "garland." Malas are made with 108 natural gemstone beads, strung and knotted one by one. The beads represent the union and connection that underlies all living things. Each mala contains a larger bead, called the Guru, attached to a cotton tassel that represents the thousand-petalled lotus.
